Waiting on a FIN packet ACK "FIN-WAIT-1"

Hi everybody,

I need your help with this situation.

Sometimes when I stop an inbound connection (TCP/IP with mlp_tcp.pdl), netstat shows the connection in FIN_WAIT_1 and it will disappear after nine to ten minutes.

My question is why is that and how can I close the connection faster then nine minutes?

My Network engineer said he never saw a FIN packet leaving the AIX server to the sending system.

So another question is how can I make sure that a FIN packet is sent?

We are using QDX 5.2 I think rev 2.
