I needed to make changes to a lookup table that was used by a inbound thread.  After making the changes, I stopped and started both the inbound and outbound threads, but the new additions to the lookup table did not appear to work until the whole process was stopped and restarted.  Is this the recommended action?  There are mutiple routes coming out of one central thread and I wanted to minimize the disruption to the other threads by just bouncing the threads involved in the change, rather than the whole process.

Purching Caches in that process should refresh the table, just as it refreshes Xlates.

that should be purging, not purching. Sorry.

Sorry, I’m pretty green at this.  How do I purge a cache?

I beleive that there was an alert to not purge caches on versions prior to 5.3 r3

                  Can someone else confirm …

                  Thanks

                    ok .. found it ..

                    https://usspvlclovertch2.infor.com/viewtopic.php?t=292

                    Rob stated 5.3 Rev 2 .. but .. I thought it wasn’t fixed until Rev 3.

Anyone tested this on Rev 2… and is it fixed?

                    Thanks

                    Dennis

rev2 release notes indicate that a change was made related to purgex, which may have been the problem ….

Are others using purge cache w/o problems?

                      (5.3 rev2 and higher)

                        Dennis,

I seem to recall the purge caches problem had to do with a fairly specific condition related to PATHCOPY and FRL – or something like that.

We are on 5.2 and I use it frequently in our Test environment without issue – however I rarely use PATHCOPY.

We regularly use purge cache and have not noticed any problems

                          Running: Version 5.3 rev2

Just thought I’d post an update..

We used purge cache in our test environment.. and .. a day later we encountered ‘odd’ problems with our Xlates ..

Thank you for your input.  Purge caches has not been entirely reliable at my site also.  I am currently stopping and starting the entire process just to be sure the updates are going into effect.
