    I’m having a problem with the GUI when I open an Xlate.  The xlate opens fine but when I attempt to bring up a properties window on any of the entries, the properties windows doesn’t appear.  I’ve checked all of the java settings that I can think of on my PC but still am having the problem.  All others within my group are not experiencing this problem so I’m thinking it is a setting or something local to my PC.

    Any advice would be appreciated.  My email is trioux@tmh.tmc.edu

      Tom, do you experience this for one particular xlate, or any xlate?  Likewise, are the others in your group opening the same xlate your exp. problems with?  Similar situations can result from variant issues.  A thought . . . double check the IB and OB variant configuration against the Xlate to see if message definitions agree.  Also, are you able to “reconfig” the xlate from the gui?

      This seems to be isolated to my PC only.  This happens with any xlate I am attempting to modify.  Others in the group are having no issues opening the same xlate or any xlates.  I’m assuming at this point that it may be Java related.  I’ve tried replacing my Java files with those from a known good PC and it still doesn’t want to work.

      Thanks…

      Hi,

      I doubt that its Java related – if it was Java I would expect all your GUI’s to fail not just one.

      Can you open the files that form the inpuit/output to your xlates i.e. HL7, HRL’s FRL’s etc.? Are you seeing any other symptoms or is it just when you try opening xlates?

      Can you create new xlates or is just openinig existing ones?

      Hi Garry,

      I can open any xlate with no problem.  I can open any frl or hl7 with no problem.  I can creat a new xlate with one problem.  When I click on copy and try to bring the properties window up, it won’t pop open.  Nor will it pop open on existing xlates.  I don’t understand, it was working fine a week ago and nothing has changed on my PC.  I guess the next step will be to reinstall.

      Thanks….

      Hi,

      Silly question. Is it the order of your windows i.e the property window is opening but it is behind the main GUI window? I have had problems with exchange in a similar manner – I click reply to an email and nothing happens – yet normally a reply dialog should open. When I looked more deeply into the problem I found that the reply dialog was opening behind the exchange front screen. I still haven’t found an answer to this but now I know I just CRTL TAB to swap windows.

      Regards

      Garry

      I had a problem that sounds similar to what you are experiencing,   I would double click on an item in my xlate but it appeared nothing would happen.

      In my case the properties window was popping up but it was off my desktop — when I switch to a higher resolution I could see the window on the far right of my screen.

      I am using version 5.3 so it may vary but here is one way to fix this:

      Look in the folder C:quovadxqdx5.3integratorclient (or wherever you installed quovadx)

      There is a file named client.ini

      Open this up in notepad and look for a section with your username in it similar to this:

      [user_yourusername_xlate_config]

      On my computer it looks like this:

      Code:

      [user_davdil_xlate_config]
      property_dlg_pos=48 197
      property_dlg_size=827 409

      The property_dlg_pos controls the screen position (with coordinate 0,0 in the upper left of the screen).  The property_dlg_size controls the size of the property dialog window.

      If the property_dlg_pos coordinates are very large, or even negative the window is probably off the visible screen.

      Change the values for the property_dlg_pos to move the window to where you can see it.

      I would backup the client.ini file before making any changes just in case something goes wrong

      This may not have anything to do with the problem you are seeing but thought I would toss it out there just in case

      Thanks David.  I changed the client.ini file and it worked.  I looked at the “property_dlg_pos” entry and it was set at something like “37494 37494”  I changed it to “0 33” and the properties window came right up.

      Thanks for all the help!

      Tom
