Sockets for sending message vs. socket for receiving ack

General tcp/ip question using pdl mlacknak. If sending/writing over socket 2600 to appA…..is the ack from appA received over the same socket ?Someone told me yesterday, “….
The ACKs come over random ports, but use a stateful connection. They are not sent over a specific port or set of ports. that acks are received over”
😕 Can someone confirm this and or explain ?
