Using an A02 to replace a A12

      Hi All,

      Our Aramark Housekeeping system cannot accept an A12 – Cancel Transfer.

      I believe an A02 in the same as A12 except the Assigned and Prior Patient Location fields of PV segment are reversed.

      Substituting and A02 for an A12 would be like transferring (A02)  the patient back into the original location.

      Does this make sense.  ?? Any other alternatives / ideas ??

      Should I maybe convert the A12 to an A08  ??

          It depends on if the system you’re sending to needs to know a previous bed that the patient was in.  If they do not care at all what bed that patient was previously in then skip the hassle and just change it to an A08.

            I take that back.  You also need to find out if there’s any type of special processing that an A02 triggers in their system.

              Daniel ,

              You are correct and that is what we are investigating now. Our Housekeeping

              does trigger pages based on Patients IN/OUT of beds. So the message

              they get is key.

              These were my initial thoughts . THanks for yours.
