HL7 to VRL translation

I am trying to copy the body of transcription results from OBX5 to a file and append all results for one day to a single file. When I use the VRL translation the copied result truncates at the first comma it comes to. I see the “escape pair” field in the xlate configuration window but I can’t find documentatiojn that tells me this will work to not interpret commas as delimeters. Does anyone know how I can do this using the translation configurator or do I ned to go to a tcl? Thanks
