Is anyone in Cloverleaf-land using the Centricity PM interface kit, also known as the MIK?

According to our interface specialist with GE, we cannot null a field out through the interface.  This makes absolutely no sense to me.  Apparantly, this means once a patient has (for example) an address line 2, they will always have one because I can’t remove it via the interface.

I know HL7 says using “” should null a field out, but not according to our GE interface specialist.

Are there any Cloverleaf users who have done this interface, and how are you handling this?  Thank you

Thought any future MIK users may like to know that two spaces will null out a field.

GE didn’t seem to know that, or at least weren’t willing to share with their “customer” – so I thought I’d share with the rest of you.

            Hi Matt,

I am working with folks using the Milbrook Integration Kit and they are saying that they cannot do a normal real time TCPIP connection.  They can only do an asynchronous TCP connection.  Basically I would have to send data on a port but MIK can only send the acknowlegement on a different port.

They said they can accept file based messages as well.

Can I ask how you send and receive data with MIK?

            Thanks!

            Mark
