I have been asked to check on software that could be used with Cloverleaf to assist providing a level of version control with Cloverleaf.

We do not have alot of tcl and for the most part it is maintained by just a couple of developers.

Cloverleaf maintains the revisions directory for those changes that are made via the GUI in the config files, however, is anyone using additional software to montitor changes to the config files, revisions, etc.

If you would be willing to share your insight as to how you currently use version control software in your environment.

My guess is with how we are currently using Cloverleaf, we are probably sufficient, but I want to see what others have to say before I make my recommendation.

      Thanks,

If you are using Windows or Sun you can use the Quovadx Version Manager.  It hasn’t worked on AIX in past versions but maybe it’s fixed in 5.4 🙂.

Keep in mind the revisions directory doesn’t include tclprocs which is probably the one you need it for the most.  If your server is UNIX you could set up a simple CVS repository for your version manager for Tcl and Shell scripts, then let Cloverleaf maintain the config files through the revisions directory.

            We are on AIX,

Does the Quovadx Version Manager manage the tcl procs and additional shell scripts?

Does anyone know if version 5.4 has resolved the issues suround version manager on AIX?

            Thanks for your input Jonathan.
