      Hi,

I’m having some difficulty resending messages that have accumulated in the error database.  I have made some fixes to a script and would like to reprocess the messages.  The problem is after I output the messages to a file it can’t resend them because its adding 0000004** before each MSH segment.  Is there some easy way to remove the special characters from the files that are created from smat or database administrator so they can be understood easily by the engine?

          Tim,

When you write the messages out from the Error database, you can specify whether to write them as length-encoded (i.e. the first 10-bytes denotes the length of the message, which is what you are seeing) or newline-terminated; the default selection from the Database Administrator GUI is ‘binary length encoded’.
