Can the MySQL database reside/work on HP-UX 11i running Integrator (Cloverleaf) 5.2?  If so, do I need ODBC and which one works with the engine and mySQL?

What I need to do is write specific HL7 fields to a relational db that can then be queried for reporting by Access or Crystal Reports.    My understanding of how the database/odbc work is very rudimentary so I would appreciate any help!

      Thank you!

          Hi Kathy,

Looking at the MySQL website there is a version of MySQL for HP UX 11 (is this the same as 11i – I’m a Windows person?)

I would recommend that you install MySQL on a different server to your Cloverleaf install so this could be any operating system you choose.

You will then need a ‘Connector’ – again there is one available from the MySQL site. This is your ODBC driver and is the mechanism by which you talk to the database.

Finally you will also need the ODBC Tcl extensions from Quovadx. These allow you to call ODBC from within Tcl (Cloverleaf).

If you feel more adventurous there are a number of other options available to you but this is probably the simplest and will allow you to get support from Quovadx if you have a problem.

          Regards

          Garry
