      Hi Guys

I am trying to configure an alert to send an email if a particular thread is not up.

Everything seems to working fine except the timing issue.

I want the alert to check the status of the thread EVERY HOUR. If it is not up, then send an email every hour. It sends an email after I restart the thread and if it is not up. It does not send it again after the time interval defined in the Time Window.

      The Time Window is defined as * * 0-23 * * *.

      Any suggestions!

      Thanks

      Amit

          Amit,

Once the alert triggers, it won’t trigger again until the condition is reset (i.e. the thread goes ‘UP’ and then goes ‘Down’ again).  To force a refresh of the alert condition, you can simply perform a ‘touch’ on the default.alrt file to force the monitord to re-read the alert configuration file.  Simply add another ‘exec’ action to ‘touch’ the default.alrt file.  The monitor daemon then sees that the file has been modified (even though nothing really changed) and re-reads it.

          Hope this helps.
