      AIX 5.1

Attempting to start a Network Monitor and getting the following error:

Unknown host: 127.0.0.1; nested exception is:

java.net.UnknownHostException: No entry in proxy socket for host:  127.0.0.1

I have a second Cloverleaf server / host I want to monitor from one workstation.  I’ve modified the client.ini file hosts line to include the IP I want to connect to, but when I select this host in the network monitor, I get this error.

There must be something simple I am missing, but I haven’t stumbled on the answer yet, so any help would be appreciated.

Did you get a resolution to this?  I’m running into the same issue.

I was able to resolve with another posting I found and copied below. Thanks to Terry Kellum

Make sure that you can ping the box.

Make sure that you have the same version of server and client (different versions use different ports..).

Make sure that you have this stanza in your /server/server.ini file:

            [firewall]

            rmi_exported_server_port=1.1.1.240

Please replace the IP with the IP of your cloverleaf server.

            Restart the host server.

Alternatively, open the hicservedradmin gui on the server x-windows session, and go to the host server firewall tab and enter the IP address there under “exported server address”.

Sorry for the delay in posting.  I had to do the following to get mine working:

              1) if you have a firewall between the client and host make sure the ports are

open (host server port for  whatever version you are on, and port 80

                 – yep, must have telnet).

              2) turn out telnet must be running on the server

the one I was attaching to was a WIN2K box and needed telnet services

                 started.

Also, once you start telnet, stop and restart the host server
