We are on Cloverleaf Platform 5.2.  and are having issues with our ADT site.  Within the ADT site, we have 8 ADT processes.  The main ADT process takes messages in from our HIS system and pushes them out via raw route to the separate ADT processes.  So, we have outbound threads on the main ADT site for ADT1, ADT2, ADT3 and so on.  They are all set up identical and all are delivering messages to their respective processes except for one.  The ADT2 outbound thread keeps backing up for some unknown reason.  I’ve checked everything.  There is no port conflict and the log files show nothing unusual.  The messages in the RDB are all state 11.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.  If you need more information, you can email me at trioux@tmh.tmc.edu

      Thanks…

          Thomas,

Depending on the number of threads within your processes (and what they are doing) you may need to break things out some more.  The other thing to look at is turning ‘translation throttling’ on for all the processes in that site.  Depending on your volumes, the engine may be spending all of it’s time getting messages and Xlating (yes, even ‘raw’ uses the translation thread) that it can’t finish moving things out.

Thanks for the input James.  We tried everything you suggested to no avail.  However, in the meantime, we did figure out the problem.  One of our Cloverleaf analysts wrote a Tcl proc for use in the offending process.  The Tcl proc was using datnum’s and they weren’t getting cleaned up properly.  It affected the performance of the process in a big way.   The datnum issue has been resolved and it hasn’t backed up since.

            Thanks….
