I have an Alerts package that may solve some of the things you want to do with Alerts. As with all things there is probably a price associated with it. We provide it to those that attend the Alerts Seminar. If interested, check with your Account Manager.
With that said, Alerts is one of my favorite subjects 🙄
We are well aware that with all the multiple sites and numbers of threads etc., we are quickly (if not already) outgrowing the present Alerts package.
It would take some time to get the Alerts redesigned and released. Therefore, I am considering writing a more enhanced Alerts package that would run as a daemon. I am open to suggestions as long as you don’t get too wild.
I already intend to include the ability to send mail, cycle or stop processes and/or threads and the like. I also intend to add code to check the error database plus monitor all processes including monitord and lock manager.
I will also have the ability to report on transistions rather than absolutes. For example a thread went from UP to Down, not simply it is down.
Many other enhancements.
Now if I can just find one of those big round objects called a TUIT, I guess I can then get around to it 😉
