So I’m trying to pathcopy/pass through an entire ZFM segment from a HL7 2.3 inbound to a 2.4 HL7 outbound. But the 2.4 HL7 doesn’t have a definition for ZFM, how can I just add it into the 2.4 definition, and thus have a place to pathcopy the 2.3 into, without messing up anything else?
The ZFM segment does not natively exist in any version of HL/7.
Easiest way is to create a new 2.4 variant if you do not have one, then copy the ZFM file from where it exists in the existing variant’s formats…/segment directory and the fields entries from the existing variant formats directory.
Or you can just use the HL/7 Configurator to add the segment. You will also need to define the needed fields.
Then in the Xlate reference the new variant. If the variant is already referenced then after the changes to the variant, do a reconfigure on the Xlate to pick up the changes.
