    Hi folks,

I have a low traffic outbound thread set to resend messages if no ack received.

So whenever there’s only just one message going into the resend “loop” as destination system is having issue (that’s a separate issue), the thread will still appear GREEN with no pending message.

I am wondering how you would set an alert for this?

I have looked at the Alert tool but don’t see anything applicable? Only a custom script run from crontab will work?

    TIA!

      What release of Cloverleaf?

The Alert Tool has been updated with various releases so a solution for a later release may not work for you on an earlier release and a different solution may be necessary.

I do not necessarily have a solution for you but others may and knowing what release could be helpful.

      Hi Jim,

We are on CL 5.8.7 on Solaris 10.

      Thanks!

I think I have what you need.  I do it with an “AND” alert.  Mine checks for 10 or more messages waiting, but you can change it to one.  We’re on 19.1.2, but this also worked for me on 6.1.1.

      See attached document.

      Hi Jerry,

Think the message being resent is after the pending queue and hence, won’t fire the alert or show up on the thread status?

      Hmm…

Hi David.   Not positive, but I would think it would still show as 1 in the Outbound Queue Depth until you receive the ACK.

What is the timeout?  Set to a reasonable value – 30 – 45 seconds-  you can count the resends in  a OB reply proc and send email if it exceeds a certain value.

Thanks Charlie, cos on the Network Monitor, the thread is GREEN so Ops won’t catch it.
