Help needed for first java/ws-rawclient connection setup

I have a thread outbound connection which has been used http:client protocol for years. Now I need to covert it to protocol of java/ws-rawclient. Not sure what are required to set it up. like URL, validate certificates, etc, and how to setup? Any information are great apricated. Thank you in advanced!
