Use .mailrc file for alert emails

Hello, we are using Cloverleaf 19.1 running on RHEL 7.4. If we create email actions in alerts using exec and call mailx we can use the email aliases defined in the .mailrc file in the hci home directory. When I try to use the alias in the email action of the IDE the alias does not get translated. Is there a way to configure alerts to use the .mailrc or will we have to add the aliases to the /etc/aliases file as root?

  This doesn’t answer your question but wanted to point out that we use the built in mail action in alerts and reference global variables in master site to define our ‘mailto’ email addresses. Seems to work well.
