I always just use hcitcptest from the command line. I don’t recall using the GUI so I have no insight as to its usage.
Try the command line hcitcptest then you will get the Usage displayed (telling you what to provide as arguments) and can supply the appropriate arguments on the next execution.
Basically I use this utility to assure connectivity and to validate an acknowledgment should I be connecting as a Client,
So for example connecting as a client (assuming HL/7) if I connect successfully I then type in ‘junk’ (no quotes). I expect to get back a negative acknowledgement. If I get back nothing that is not correct but useful to know, if I get back a positive acknowledgment that should not happen and I can have a discussion with the receiving system regarding their acknowledgment methodology.
As a server I want to listen and make sure the foreign system can connect to me then send me a message. I can then analyze the message to make sure it is what I expect in general.
So at this point I have not configured anything in Cloverleaf but know a fair amount about the connections in question.
