I’m trying to use the engine to convert a pipe-delimited file to another pipe-delimited file, to reconfigure the data fields.  Simple, right?  I can’t even get the input pipe-delimited file to test properly as a VRL for the one I built for that file.  I feel I’m missing something very basic here, and would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

Did you set the Global properties in the VRL Configurator?

          From Help:

To configure user-defined global properties, select Options > Global Properties on the IDE’s menu bar. This opens the Global Properties dialog box, where default field properties are shown.

Thanks, Jim – so, I cannot have both a .csv and a pipe-delimited VRL simultaneously?

So what is the file content?

What is separated by comma and what is separated by pipe?

If you would like to take this off line, email me (my email is with my profile on this post) and I will help you.
