Connectivity with vendor using a supplied certificate

Where can I find documentation or guidance for establishing a connection to a vendor using a certificate? The vast majority of my connections are secured via VPN, and I have never set one up to be secured via certificate.

  I don’t have a lot of detail regarding use of the Certificate but if you are on a UNIX Platform, I am pretty sure you will need the Cloverleaf Addon to use SSL (I don’t recall what that is called). That module/license also comes with the Web Services Addon for Cloverleaf so if you have that you should be good to get started.
